Dessie Hughes, R.I.P.

It is with deep regret that we have learned of the death of trainer Dessie Hughes. He trained a host of winners here over the years and its not long ago since Our Conor won his first race here. Dual champion hurdle winner Hardy Eustace was under his care, however, we shall always remember his association as a jockey with Monksfield and lets not forget Davy Lad. A great person, jockey and trainer. May he rest in peace

Reflecting on 2014:

A local journalist has pointed out that Roscommon is the smallest populated county with a racecourse in Ireland. Reflecting on the 2014 year at Roscommon Racecourse, we would like to thank everyone for making it such a successful year. Attendance, bookmaker and tote betting figures were excellent and once again the racecourse finished top of the charts when population comparisons are taken into account. Thank you for making this possible.
